Junior High Middle School Grades 7 and 8

Grades 7 and 8 at BCA are more than a prelude to the high school years. They are an intentional effort at combining a demanding academic program with a sense of community that encourages self-discovery and Christian civility. Our teacher to student ratio is 1:12.

We teach traditional classes for all NY State required classes. We use a combination of materials from Abeka Book, Bob Jones Press and others that fit our goals for student development both academically and spiritually. We supplement our core curriculum with other materials to broaden our base of educational opportunities for our students.

BCA has a history of outstanding academic achievement. We attribute this to several key components of our daily school life:

  • effective prayer,
  • teaching the whole child,
  • an enriching curriculum,
  • exceptional teachers,
  • strong parental involvement,
  • our thorough focus on God in all areas of study, and a recognition that strong faith and academic excellence complement each other

Chapel and Bible

Middle school students in grades 7-8 participate in chapel every Wednesday. Each week features a guest speaker. Speakers include area pastors, college representatives, and missionaries.

Science Fair

Held every other year, our middle and high school grades participate in the BCA Science Fair. Projects implement the scientific method, creating experiments to test the hypotheses. Projects may be done individually or with a partner.

History Fair

Held every other year, our middle and high school grades participate in the BCA History Fair. Students choose a country or topic to study and present. Projects may be done individually or with a partner.

How wonderful it is to hear my 15 year old son to say, "I love my school!" What an answer to prayer. Thanks BCA! - BCA Parent

As a Christian parent, it gives me great ease of mind to know that my children are being cared for & taught by people that share the same principle beliefs & values that I do.  I have confidence that the leadership & teachers at BCA uphold what I teach my kids at home as opposed to undermining it.  When I hear my daughter reciting Scripture as part of her homework, it warms my heart & I thank God for the privilege of sending her to a Christian school.  — BCA parent

"The teachers take character training seriously at BCA. When there is a conflict between students, the teachers guide students in using the “ Matthew 18 principle” in resolving a conflict between each other. Instead of telling the teacher the problem first, the students are encouraged to talk to each other first as stated in Matthew 18:15. If the problem can not be resolved with the students speaking directly with each other, then they may solicit the help of the teacher."— BCA parent
